New York based photographer with a focus on black and white, landscapes, cloudscapes, cityscapes...urban and nature, landscapes and candid portraits.
I have developed a style I call "Gotham".
Manipulation of light and dark to the extremes creating dramatic images.
Background and Influences:
Ansel Adams is my hero.
I picked up on photo composition watching films because i'm a cinephile.
I saw my first Hitchcock movie at 10, Coppola, De Palma, Scorsese all by 13.
Then there was Kubrick, Fincher, Malick...
The list is enormous, but it was brought to my attention 25 years ago while watching a movie with friends Sunthar, Mike, Jeff and Boom.
I remember calling out a shot I found beautiful during the movie, which i'm assuming i'd done many times before, and my friend Sunthar said:
"Dude...get this guy a camera!"
I never thought bout picking up a camera before that. It sat in my head for years.
I bought my first DSLR in 2008…the rest is here.
Hope you enjoy.
