Alyona Mak:

Alyona Mak, a creative professional who lives and works in NYC, was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia.

She started her career as a graphic designer at Stagebill magazine, after graduating with Honors from Hunter collage in 1998.

For over 10 years she has explored the world of graphic design and illustration in web, print and multi-media.

Alyona illustrated and designed many covers for :

 - The Metropolitan Opera

 - all Chicago Theaters using Stagebill Magazine

 - Black Book Magazine and other publications.

In 2004 she was accepted into Pratt’s Institute Graduate program in Industrial design. This added another dimension to her creativity.

While she was obtaining her Master’s degree, she was awarded a grant to study abroad at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen, here she studied Scandinavian design and architecture.

After graduation she worked as an industrial and product designer for a variety of clients, but wanted to find a way of combining her newfound design knowledge with her previous experience. This happened in 2011, when she started her career in the window display industry.

Alyona designs and develops original concepts for many Fifth and Madison Avenue clients, such as:

 - L’Occitane

 - Godiva

 - Audemars Piguet,

 - CWonder

 - Joe Fresh

 - Ippolita

 - Jimmy Choo and many others.

Recently her displays started expanding beyond New York City, nationally and internationally. Her original illustration and design can now be seen in Ippolita’s window in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., the L’Occitane holiday window in Toronto and Belstaff in London.

In 1997, Alyona received a special award for the Excellence of Design from the Society of Publication Designers.

In 2007 she became a Merit Award Winner of Taiwan International Design Competition. Her works were published in ID Magazine, Black Book Magazine, Stagebill, Tango Magazine, 32nd Publication Design Annual, and in a number of web Design Portals.
